Get it!

No mate. That’s not how it actually translates in real life. It actually results in people in positions of power, which legally have a duty of care to their employees - not only offering unprofessional and unsolicited medical advice, but forcing those views repeatedly on impressionable people who just want to work.

Until you’ve experienced it first hand, you won’t understand. My girlfriend worked for one of the biggest agencies in the world for years. Dedicated her entire existence to keeping a size 6 which was already dangerously underweight for her. The entire time she had her bosses, old 50-60 year old women constantly give her shit about it.

And no, it’s not a case of ‘look good enough and you won’t get hassled’. My gf was booking jobs all over the world. It’s more like ‘it doesn’t matter how good you look, or how many jobs you book - these people will constantly harass you and say it’s not good enough.’ They cannot operate any other way. It has driven many people over the edge. Industries can not be allowed to operate this way.

It is not ok in 2021, to have an industry that is hell bent on shaping human beings in an extremely unhealthy way, so the point of traumatising people - just so the agency and the corporate brands they partner with can make a profit. It is a predatory industry and one that should not be defended.
