My point of view based on experience, with the aim to minimise bias in order to serve the /r/DotA2 community of ~315,800 readers.

Due to the popularity of this post (also in /r/DotA2/hot/), all of its edits and the conclusion, I disagree with the potential slander of all parties involved (including /u/noodlesfordaddy and /u/herro9n due to slightly contradicting statements, please see Edit 4: of the post and the differences in the conclusions).

  • However, I agree that it is difficult for individuals to cash-out their bonus currency. *

As a long-term DotA player, e-Sports follower and former poker player, I would like to offer alternative views and further clarity.

'In response to Edit 1: of the popular post, my reply is as follows:

Great topic of discussion due to the recent history of under age betting in e-Sports. I do not condone under age gambling.

When I visit gg.bet, I notice the list of games which I may bet on.

Each game offers downloadable content (I view it as paid community feedback with out law infringement). A person chooses to purchase the game or the service.

The style varies due to the game publishers, ranging from indie to large corporations.

In the common rules of the gg.bet website, under section 4.1, I also notice that in order to bet, the individual must be 18 or over. To my knowledge, this is the widely accepted age for a consenting adult.

Therefore, this betting site currently caters to:

  • Consenting adults who enjoy gambling,
  • play one or more of the games mentioned,
  • contribute to game developers by paying for downloadable content, trading money for goods
  • and finally, view betting in a similar way and are able to meet the cash-out requirements. If they would like to do so.

Thank you for reading this review.
