COMMENTARY: The adults can chill. Canada’s kids are okay - National

Are they? At work last night there were two girls in their early 20's (20, 21) working different bars and they had problems multiplying. I'm not talking big numbers here either. Like $5.25x4 at the most. Not only that, but when counting back money one of them was giving back more than due. These are the types of young kids that are constantly on their phone if they're able. My uncle's GF, who was a teacher, was visiting the other day and she was complaining about kids being allowed their cellphones in class. So it seems as though local education here is more concerned with students being civil because they have their phones than they are with making sure they're able to multiply and count money. No doubt it'll get to a point where teachers are constantly using their phones in classrooms so the next generation will be even worse off.
