The community donated a van so that boy who was separated from the class during lunch as punishment for being late won't be late to school anymore.

You heard one side, and saw a single picture that confirms what that one side said and you're running with it.

Yes, that's enough. Seriously, you just shouldn't treat kids like that, period. Of course I expect the school to cover their ass and, no, I don't expect any serious debate to come from restrained discussions. If you think that's the point of this, you're mistaken.

The point of this IS to shame the school in public, to make their life difficult.

Now let's look at it from the school's point of view. They are under shitty government mandates (No Child Left Behind etc) to make sure that every child passes (% wise at least). They are graded on how many pass.

Yes, of course, having to deal with pesky laws is a problem. Never mind the health of a child, let's just make sure that everyone passes so we get to keep our model status. Your attitude IS the problem. While I don't agree with all of NCLB, I damn sure think that schools should be measured, evaluated, and graded. Why is that a problem when that is EXACTLY WHAT YOU DO ALL DAY TO STUDENTS? You should want to be graded objectively if you truly believe that you are doing a great job.

I'm certainly not surprised that the first place you seek to place blame is on the students, their parents, and the government.

How are they going to make sure this kid passes the 1st fucking grade if he misses so much school and doesn't get caught up on it?

You keep bringing that up as if you're solving a problem. I contend that you're not. You're failing to educate the child, he's not learning at lunch, he's not catching up, he's just stressed out and upset. We can see that from the single picture that you're mad is out in the world.

You're also not solving his problem of not being able to get in on time.

Seriously, this is the best that you can do? You lack creativity and compassion and you deserve the public beatdown that you're getting.

Thanks for exasperating the problem.

Welcome to the new Millennium. Keep your laundry clean so that it doesn't matter when people air it out for you.
