Community service: Ordering face masks

I think the best thing you could possibly do is to keep enough for your household & drop the rest off at a hospital. You would effectively be saving countless more lives.

This whole situation has the potential to get much, MUCH worse over the next two weeks. I hope to God I'm wrong, but the potential is there, the data is there, & our contingency measures are flimsy at best. If this town goes anything like other places have gone, we're in for one helluva suckout, & we ain't even really seen the flop yet. Protect yourself & yours, but fuck man - our heroes need help.

Forgive me if this comes off preachy - it's late & I'm far from sober. I've been trying to think of some kind of way that I could be of some help or some service, but I'm a nobody & lack resources. In all honesty, the only thing I could think to do would be to volunteer at a hospital to clean their bathrooms - I'm not really qualified for anything else & if they could use that money to save lives, then it'd probably be worth it.

I'm 40, chain smoker & drinker, & if this shit catches me it's probably a wrap. I've been doing some soul-searching over the past week or so & figure I don't have a chance of avoiding it. So midnight confessions - I'm just trying to go out the right way. If I can figure out some legit way where my life would save two - fuck it, I'm down.

But in the end, I really probably couldn't do much with my best effort. If you've got legit PPE coming, I know some fools that are gonna need it more than anybody else. You won't get to see the fruits - but you drop that shit off at a hospital & you might end up saving a dozen lives off one fuckin' mask.

If we stay home then we don't really need it as much. Those doctors & nurses are our only chance at getting a handle on this whole shit. The politicians ain't gonna look out for us, the corporations ain't gonna look out for us, but God forbid any of us end up grasping for air, it'd be nice to not have to wait on getting seen.

I might be drunk & preachy - but I ain't wrong. Hospital, bruh. That's the only play.
