I dropped off around Christmas when I finally started playing BOTW. When I beat that I said to myself that I would return to some of my old favorites. It can be a bit confusing to get back into the game, especially if you sucked to begin with, but I'm having a lot of enjoyment with it. If Nintendo announced "Five new characters for $20!" I would buy it.

I think the problem is Nintendo expected ARMS to sell like Splatoon did. There was datamined information for way more then the five characters we got as DLC. That's why it was so bare bones at the start. They probably thoughts that players would stick with it like they did with the first Splatoon, but they forgot a crucial thing. The Wii U didn't have as many options to play. A bare-bones game is not going to be as attractive as a full game no matter how amazing said game is.

ARMS is so fun that I feel like I got my money's worth and I'm not even close to being done. It has it's problems, but since it came out pretty early in the Switch's life and didn't have much to show for it that it was likely rushed. The game feels complete to me now. I still want a story mode, but overall I like every other mode. Except Skillshot against Barq and Byte.
