Commute to Berkeley or go to Davis??

It would be an obscenely bad idea to commute from Sacramento to Berkeley and do well in an ME degree here. My bf was a junior ME transfer and had a successful run (high GPA, got into the MSME, got a great job). A key to his success was spending copious amounts of time studying to catch up to where other students were, time you will lose by an extremely long and draining commute. If you go to Berkeley, live within a reasonable commute distance.

Not ragging on Davis, but top ME employers such as Apple, Ford, GM etc hire quotas of Berkeley students. My bf got an internship interview at Apple from them emailing his teacher and asking if she knew any good students for a particular role. That's not true at all UC campuses.
