Companies are using covid as an excuse for terrible service

Ok I'm a government worker and I really want people to understand that neither I, nor my coworkers, have taken this as an excuse to slack. It's really irritating when people who dont know my job tell me I'm not doing my job. We already get shit for being "slow" (when really we're constantly slammed with dealing with the public's bullshit and processes and procedures designed to protect your rights, sorry if it's a little inconvenient) so why would anybody take the opportunity to be even more hated and back things up to be worse than they already are? I dont doubt that some people and some companies have used this as an excuse to get out of obligations or cut corners but you dont know everything that goes into a company or agency giving you what you want.
