Companies buying back stock and paying dividends with debt..... How Do shareholders not revolt at this nonsense?

If borrowing money and paying interest to buy back shares is more profitable to shareholders than a company not borrowing money.

a company will continue to borrow money.

IF you do not want companies ot borrow money then you have to choose to borrow money yourself to increase the demand for loans and to increase the interest rates.

to make it un-profitable for companies to borrow money.

so for every dollar of income you have borrow 33 dollars. I think the current federal reserve requirment is 3% for banks with assets greater than 100 million.

The second option is to vote in a president who cuts taxes and increases spending. so that the government has to borrow a bunch to drive interest rates up and make it unprofitable for companies to borrow money!

The third option. There is a "debt to equity" in most stock screener. which is the well amount of debt a company has. you can choose to invest only in companies that have very minimal debt.

It depends on how you want to solve the problem. if you choose to borrow money yourself it lets you very quickly respond to the changing markets! IF you vote for government to borrow money then you have less risk but they cannot respond quickly to changing markets. If you choose to invest incomapnies with no debt. you will not get very good returns but this is the least risky as if a government takes on a bunch of ebt they will have to raise taxes (or inflation taxes, hyperinfaltion, income taxes, estate taxes etc.) which will cost you in the longer run.

However on that note. once companies borrow too much money interest rates will rise and they will stop. it will reach an equilibrium. I do not want a big government and i want the highest return possible as i am young. so i try to borrow 3 times my yearly income. not 33 times because that would be too risky but any amount of borrowing would but a positive demand for loans and would increase interest rates.

heck my neighbor bought a new car to try to drive interest rates up!
