Why do companies fill their ranks with crazy ideologues? What's in it for them really?

Angela Nagle is below even Hacker News in terms of insight on the topic, she's applying the same predictable lens that she always will because that's what her brand dictates.

my question was about the practical benefits of continuing to hire people who will almost certainly perpetuate this pattern of behaviour.

They're not filtering for "crazy woke ideologues" - how would you even do that? The only behavioral aspect of these interviews is lunch, which doesn't factor into the hiring committee.

I think it's a problem that Andy Rubin was paid $90m severance, but the discussion about walkouts isn't worthwhile if you're unaware/ignoring the far more significant protests against Maven and Dragonfly. There are unreasonable people in tech and they do cause drama, but your media consumption has given you a warped view of the problem.
