Comparison of emptiness on Caldera vs Verdansk, one of the major setbacks holding back Caldera imo.

One of the major reasons why I think Warzone currently feels stale or unexciting currently is the lack of forethought when it came to gameplay design for Caldera. Despite finally having an entirely new map to play on that has been out for just over a month and a half, the game feels incredibly slow paced, more than it has ever been.

Sure, part of this is definitely attributed to the loadout changes impacting the pacing, especially when it comes to aggressive squads, but after taking a look at how Verdansk was designed, both the OG and '84 versions played tremendously better when it came down to rotations.

Caldera has a significant portion of it's emptiness or "dead zones" as I like to call it, centralized to the map, which makes rotations feel lengthy & dreadful. On Verdansk, the rotations were much shorter & quick, and overall felt more natural and cohesive. A perfect example would be the classic super drop, you land in one of the hottest contested areas, if you win, you have multiple buy stations to get a loadout, and then easy and quick rotations to either PD, hangars, or storage which can then be followed by Train Station, Prom, or TV area. I won't argue that Caldera overall plays more like a "traditional BR" but having Peak centralized on the map and then surrounding it by huge areas of nothingness has killed the pacing that made Warzone unique.
