Competitive League Play? (ESL, MLG, etc.)

Hi.

We're Dunk Division, consisting of me(Caper), Ikeda, Dölfen and Ottomon. Me, Ikeda and Otto played for FC Carcelona if anyone remembers them, but they disbanded( and DD was formed. A while ago we also added Dölfen to our roster. We're a friendly bunch so drop a hello if you run into us out there.

We compete mainly in two to three tournaments every week now, ESL Go4RocketLeague 3v3 on sundays, ESL MidweekMadness 2v2 on wednesdays and ESL Nordic 2v2 on thursdays. We've been in very bad form lately and performed horribly the last few weeks, to be honest. I think this is mainly because we tried to focus on playing tournaments, so we played multiple ESL tournaments, Gfinity, EsportsWall and Mock-Its without training and just tanked them all instead of playing one of them and perform decently. All that competing and none of the training in between meant we got uncoordinated and unfocused. So we decided to drop Gfinity, EsportsWall and Mock-Its and focus on ESL tournaments for the time being and maybe try to qualify for Pro League in the end.

There is a good competitive scene in Rocket League but it's far too saturated with different tournament hosts that it just gets so diluted. You can't compete in them all(if you have jobs and families), atleast not if you want to perform well, so you have to choose. Most people choose ESL and RL Central Pro League because we don't have time to play all of the tournaments out there. And the player base isn't large enough to fill the brackets with tons of teams of all tournament hosts, like Hearthstone, LoL and the other giants. Atleast ESL has about 200 teams competing on sundays, and that's pretty nice.
