A complete ban on fireworks. Yay or nay?

It's the same principle as with drugs, if you make it illegal you won't teach people how to responsibly use them and can't check the safety of the stuff that still gets sold. So by making it illegal you remove real control over the situation. Instead education helps a lot, making people aware of risks and how to avoid them saves more people than forcing them to try it illegally. Another example would be alcohol, my parents were quite easy about it after I turned 15 and told me how to be responsible instead of all out prohibiting it. This made me slowly get into contact with it and learn the risks while some friends weren't allowed to get close to alcohol by their parents, so when they got the opportunity or age they went all out and some even got into hospital for not knowing anything about the risks and how to be responsible using alcohol.

Tl;dr education is worth more than any fine or threat ever will be.
