Completely new actor with no experience and wanting to pick a book or two up to start with. Any suggestions?

I've always found that the best book to start with is the first book I pick up, sort of using a random intuition, and from there I work my way to other books, and soon I find that I've magically waded my way through a good assortment of material from which I can form my own conclusions. That method has served me well... people often recommend books, and this is good and all but what speaks to someone might not resonate with someone else...etc. It's best to pick a book and then if you don't find it interesting, pick another one, and if you find yourself passing over many of them, then perhaps the field is of no interest to you and you should move onto another one...Lol. All the best!
