Comrades, Sophie is being abused by mom's boyfriend (Jacob Wayne Bellignton, cop in Frisco, TX) and they want to take her away from dad! Petition in a comment!

Not to be rude, but this shows little understanding of how child removals work in TX. Both the Judge and DA must sign off on the removal. CPS routinely gives children the benefit of the doubt. It's the judges and DAs that let the blame falsely be put on CPS. My mother, sister and brother are all CPS investigators. They only have their removals approved 40% of the time. In the US children have much fewer rights than other wester countries. In many cases of physical abuse the DA and Judges do not find enough evidence for removal. If you really wanted to end this sort of abuse you should address your state legislature. Make it illegal to strike children, and illegal to put them around dangerous people. It's actually kind of odd... if you hit your kid (excluding the face) with an open hand when they are 17 and 364 days old it's ok. If you strike them the day they turn 18 its battery. Even if mom is dating a convicted pedo, it's not nessisarily grounds for removal. Removing someone's child is one of the most Damning things the government can do. The gov is very reluctant to exercise this power. Many times if the parents are well off and lawyer up, the gov will not remove the child to save the DA an impending years long court war, not battle. CPS worker is a very difficult job, and with no schools in session it's hard to gain the corroborating evidence needed for the case worker to make a successful petition for removal. The world of family law is complex and each case is unique. But on a whole, CPS is systematically not set up to be as effective as needed in performing their duties.
