Concept art of Star Citizen's upcoming "Nyx" area

I suppose this is where I mention that having worked in the games industry for a decade, I am more than aware of the bullshit these cunts are pulling.

They are using the Unreal engine. It's not a difficult fucking engine if you are capable ( and I sure as hell know Roberts is capable ) of even the most basic utilization of it. The entire engine is open to be worked on under the hood too, so it's not like they're struggling.

It wouldn't be difficult to whitebox the shit out of half of what they have done in a couple of months, it wouldn't look pretty, but I'd argue that you could probably surpass what they have done mechanically within six. Out of the multiple millions of dollars they have amassed, the fact that the vast majority of their time has been spent on mass producing DLC ships that can cost multiple hundreds of dollars is a sick fucking joke.

It angers me knowing that the industry I grew up loving, the industry I fucking dreamed of joining, and the industry I have been within, watching it slowly turn into a scum sucking cess pit of cunts trying to squeeze every last dime from you is getting away with it with little twats like you sitting there saying, "oh it's not so hard." Dude, are you aware of half the fucking tools on the market right now? You have entire fucking industries cropping up on the back of a bunch of kids sat in their college dorms modding games, only to explode into one of the biggest selling franchises in the history of video games... Yet here you are, trying to tell me that making a game that requires nothing but a fairly basic 6DoF space module, a simple walk around on planet and POST and GET data from a fucking server, is supposed to take you upward of what is approaching five whole years to finish?

Get the fuck out of here.
