Concerned about reporting a dangerous animal

Because of the proximity I live from the dog, walking her the other way (which we will be doing, regardless) wouldn’t 100% ensure that that dog would never see her again.

I honestly don’t care about them paying for her medical costs (although it is helpful given I don’t have an amazing salary) - I just care that this never ever ever happens to my dog again (at least at the hand of this dog, I know shit happens). At this point I am even considering telling them that they don’t have to reimburse me if they promise they will put in a good quality fence (not just a waist high chain link) and humanely muzzle her when she’s outside.

As well - the person was apologetic but brushed off the circumstance as their dog being “unpredictable”, which makes me concerned they don’t understand how serious this is.

Maybe she was just reactive to my dog, I don’t know. My neighbors have told me the dog has barked and lunged at their dog when they have walked past, and apparently the dog has also run up to the fence and barked at him before.

Really, all I care about is safety here.
