Confiscating the inhaler from an asthmatic child

At my school, we have a student with an allergy severe enough that we had to have staff meetings about him prior to the school year starting. All of his teachers, the nurse, the administrators, and the office staff were included. His allergy is so life-threatening that he carries two Epipens with him. If he has a reaction in class, we were instructed to hit him with both Epipens (one in each thigh).

Okay, good. We know how to help him. We need to keep him alive.

A few weeks ago, all of the teachers got an email stating that his Epipens are now kept in the nurse's office and he doesn't carry them with him anymore.

I haven't found out why that is, but I am terrified of him having a reaction in class (despite the precautions we take) and him dying before we can get the Epipens to him.
