This post just shows how fucked up the American “justice” system is. Consequences are him going to jail for breaking into the capitol and being personally punished. IMHO, solitary confinement is torture for anyone who isn’t actively trying to kill the guards and/or other inmates.

His wife and kids shouldn’t have to suffer for his stupidity either. There should be some sorts temporary of economic protections for families of the accused (or maybe just for all people in general?) Social services for single parents? Obviously there will still be financial issues (like rent and/or mortgage payments), but no one should have their life ruined because of what a family member did.

Now just think of all of the poorer, often minority, households where parents and kids suffer from this exact same issue.

The irony in the post is not lost on me, but the US criminal justice system needs serious reform.
