Conservatives, what do you critically consider the pros and cons of the Trump administration so far?

It's good that you are consistent with principles, but realism takes over it. I agree there is some heavy exaggeration coming onto Devos from the media, but that doesn't excuse her cronyism or incompetence. I'd rather have a competent, non-school choice secretary, than an idiot.

I've gone through the public school system and have nothing but good things to say about it in my state. Of course, it's different from state to state though, which is where school-choice can help when carried out appropriately. In fact, there are over hundred charter schools in my state, and almost none of them perform better than the public schools, as far as college placement, future income, and graduation rates go.

Having spent 20 years teaching in public schools in four states including one year in an inner city charter school and five years teaching incarcerated youth, I prefer to think of my support of school choice as "stalwart".

Then why are charter schools closing down and performing worse than public schools in the inner cities of Detroit or Flint, MI? We are talking about the public schools of Detroit, renowned for corruption and failure. Yet, charter schools can't even beat them out. Just maybe, school-choice isn't the solution to fixing what goes on in the home environment and culture?
