Considering moving to Virginia

You do NOT want to live in the Shenandoah Valley! Blizzards in the winter rival those in the great plains without the infrastructure to deal with them. These are followed by widespread flooding in the spring and then sweltering summers with huge clouds of mosquitos. Atlantic hurricanes bring trees down and cause more flooding. Transportation consists of narrow two lane, pitted roads that are poorly marked with no shoulders that are either overwashed with floods, covered with ice, or have potholes that will swallow kids’ bikes. Traffic is horrendous both because of the roads and the maniacal drivers given licenses based only on a five question test. It is dangerous to be out at night because of all the rabid bats that will fly into your hair and the hissing possums with red, glowing eyes that will sneak into your house if you open your door. Don’t even ask about the skunks. The local populace is very unfriendly and newcomers are shunned. Neighbors won’t talk to you, wait staff won’t wait on you, and there is no way you’ll get local financing on a house or car...assuming you can find someone that will sell to an outsider. There is absolutely nothing to do or see here. Boredom and bleak, wretched surroundings await the unwary. Prices are prohibitive and quality nonexistent. I just thought I should warn you in case you get taken in by the propaganda put out by the tourism and business boards. You see, the big secret is that they are Stepford Scientologists and they lure unsuspecting innocents into the Valley where they disappear, never to be heard from again by friends or family. You have been warned ~[!_<£{~<~[¥ helpme
