Console Expectations

  • First, on communication.. I pretty much play eso single player anyways, so not having zone chat on console wont really hit me too hard and instead make it more immersive. The proximity chat sounds like it might make the immersion even more impressive because the volume and sound direction is based on distance and location.

  • Second, on marketplace and trading.. It's going to be very different because there will be no MM addons, yet many diverse guild stores will still exist. So trading will be very volatile and not consistent at all. This will make for an awesome environment for skilled traders. Also, with proximity chat, it will be awesome to have market areas really become market areas and trade guilds would probably be recruiting in front of their guild trader using voice chat because of the not having any zone chat be possible.

  • Third, on pvp and grouping.. Can you imagine a cyrodil where groups weren't constantly forming based on immediate need and zone chat? It's probably going to be small scale pvp all over the map. The larger pvp groups are probably going to be guild organized due to the lack of zone chat in cyrodil. This will probably make zerg groups rare and thus make pvp more meaningful. The group finder will probably be used more often for dungeons and other activities, but for the most part guild voice chat will probably be used the most to form groups.

  • Fourth, community and people being nice.. Gold isn't really needed to level except for crafting. And even then its not really needed, it just makes it a hell of a lot easier. I hope that the community creates more comradery compared to the PC version. The PC version makes communication too easy, too open, and makes seeing people out in the game world less meaningful, so hopefully the console version creates more of a tightly nit community based on location and necessity. If its anything like the PC version, I highly doubt vets will give too much to new players or help them out so much because this game literally never ends. Even when you hit vr14 after a very very long time, you will still have champion points that you could possibly grind for not to mention nirn farming or end game gear grinding.

  • Fifth, and lastly.. Just kidding, hopefully that answered most of your questions about expectations.
