They specifically said how the situation where there was a more human term being applied to a man and a more animal-like and dehumanizing one applied to the woman was really gross and your take away was "this guy is okay with people calling men males"? They showed how there was a disconnect in how OP addressed two genders, pointing out how it wasn't just someone using slightly awkward terms, but someone learning a system of two different standards without even realizing it, and you see a double standard in pointing that out? Had OP used male/female their language would be awkward and maybe rude. They used man/female instead which was sexist. They probably did not have a bad intent behind it, but we sometimes learn these things without realizing it. I am genuinely dumbfounded how someone can be so smug while deliberately being so wrong.
