The real reason is that the Jews are descended from the Pharaohs, and still carry their genetics. At any time someone who understood how to reassemble the Pharaoh from pieces could build a Pharoah and have a superhuman. This knowledge is deeply embedded in our collective western subconscious, and causes us to fear or revere "The Jews". Another aspect of this is that many myths have been invented from the whispered rumors. Jesus, the Golem and Frankenstein are manifestations of the incipient belief that a Jew will be resurrected into a supreme being. Incidentally, the bible was written as a disinformation campaign to hide the true origin of the Jews.
