Const. David Wynn, RCMP officer shot in Alberta, dead at 42

Active shooter scenarios now dictate all available officers respond. You dont wait for ERT. You dont sit and do nothing.

That's not what happened. They sent a single unit containing 2 officers to an armed gunman with 2 longarms walking the streets of a small city. Both officers were armed with sidearms and light-body armor. A citywide alert should have been sent out when the first 911 call occurred.

And the Moncton shooter shot cops before they really knew what was happening. The hunt happened afterwards

If you actually watch the video of the unmarked RCMP officer get out of the vehicle, the officer immediately turns towards the direction behind his car. The way he got out of the vehicle, the vehicle offered him absolutely no protection to him, he was a sitting target and by this time, shots had been fired.

You have no fucking clue what you're talking about. You're another armchair quarter back who's never played the game.

If you think it's acceptable to send a lone unit to confront an armed person in a country with no open carry and in a low-immigration city on the edge of Canada who is exhibiting a firearm unconcealed and has absolutely no genuine reason to be doing so, then I hope I never have the displeasure of working with you because you are the type of person who gets others killed.

And Mayerthorpe??!? They went to repo a vehicle, the guy took off, dragged himself through the mud and brush HOURS later, and ambushed them with someone else's rifle. The huts were empty. They had no reason to be standing guard wearing night vision goggles ffs

The suspect had a very long criminal record with a number of violent offenses on it and operating a narcotics grow-op. Yeah, let's just stick lightly armored officers on a farm in the boonies in poor lighting condition with the owner on the loose. Great tactics, you should lead an army.
