Do you constantly have to prove the networks innocents?

I used to be a network engineer, I used to love it and had a passion for building / managing networks. Then I took on a new job and my new co-engineer was to smart for his own good and it was miserable. Everything was blamed on the network but 30% of the time it was and 25% of that was him not giving a Duck about fallout or change control. So I left that position to find shelter. I’m regularly asked by the network team to look into issues the other engineer is ignoring as I still have access and asked to be available to help. About every other week there is a major issue and I have started mailing out my investigations and logs and twice it has sourced to changes he made. I have written complaint emails to his boss (my old boss) and the bosses boss. Nothing will change.

I have changed jobs many times in my days looking for that perfect job where everyone you work with makes sane decisions. I have come to realize that’s a unicorn and I have real good benefits. I accepted a lateral move into a less prestigious title that has no growth potential just so I can be content with my little sand box. Getting old sucks.
