Contacting a psychiatrist for in-field questions?

Haha, I'm hoping less for convincing and more for honesty that's for sure. I don't want to pick the wrong thing.
Also some of my questions are regarding specific things I'm interested in. I mean I would ask much more generally and focus in on questions they seemed to know about but I love research. So the new EHR data from the VA being released on medications that work for PTSD was a lovely little data set - and incredibly sad. Also interesting with the anti-psychotic situation which leads into aberrant salience questions I have regarding schizophrenia. MDMA research is "up and coming" for PTSD and looking at a 2 year DEA resched. but I have about 1000 questions about that when we have a lack of therapists as it is and 8 hr sessions is going to take up time initially 7 clients could have taken... I could go on. Ivory tower syndrome though, I know research which looks promising/not promising but actual people working clinically have different experiences or so I hear. That's why I was interested in speaking to the social workers about the current foster care horrors in MA. The research in practice there is useless.

Now that I'm typing this I realize I need to refocus what I'm asking. I should be asking what makes them struggle in their careers, what makes it worth it, ect. The above things are more interests I should be talking about back and forth with friends or something they are not going to want to talk about this. Maybe I need to get out more.
