Content creators who play this game for a living putting out videos of them getting We-Rans without sliding, and then saying that means no one has to use slide to be good, is one of the most tone-deaf things they've ever done.. and I don't even care about the slide nerf.

On the flip side, listening to the community isn’t always best for the life of the game either.

Should somethings be accessible and toned down? Sure! There needs to be room for the casual player, and I feel like there is with modes like Mayhem or Freelance with lobby balancing.

At the same time, those of us who play at the higher level, who stick it out after the first 7 weeks of every season, shouldn’t be ignored in our opinions either. Likewise, they game shouldn’t be balanced around those of us who exclusively are at the top 5% of play time. There needs to be a happy middle ground.

No one wants the casual experience of D2Y1, but I bet a bunch of people will welcome the accessibility that was around back then. Likewise, not everyone wants the game balanced around the super elite, but some people wish it was that way.

All this aside, I’ve seen major content creators both for and against the change. This is just something super divisive.

Bungie wanted to tone down out movement, and they made that clear. This is them doing exactly what they said they were going to do. If anything, this is opposite of most content creators view points. Most of the opinions I hear from them are that the movement gap is this game’s only skill gap.
