Motive has been discussed, ad nauseous. Do you agree?
I've already said that there are a number of possible motives. I am not going to speculate about what I don't know.
This is what I do know:
SA left work at 11AM.
He said his family would not have approved of this.
SA placed the Auto Trader as in Barb Janda's name. To my knowledge and office Manager testimony, this is the first time Steven has done this. Yes, it was Barb's van but Tom Janda's wS living there at the time and he is the "other" person that SA dealt with A.T.
Steven specifically asks for (paraphrased) " the same girl who was here last time (TH)
SA puts the ad in Barb Janda's name even though Barb has never dealt directly with A.T. He even leaves Barb Janda's phone number.
SA is aware IIRC that Teresa has made comments about him showing up at the door being in a towel. If the past is a predictor of future behavior, it's fair to say that Steven experiences Narcissistic rage when he is embarrassed." Ie....running cousin off the road and pointing a gun at her based on a "rumor" that *embarrassed him.
SA *conceals his phone # using *67 knowing full well that he cannot get an ETA directly because he put this order in *Barb Janda's" name.
He calls 3 times. IMO, he is anxious. Whether or not he pre meditated a raping and killing or if he killed her in a crime of passion, (rejection) or some "other" scenario, Everything SA did that day was "**ou of character."
If Steven is the killer, only he knows what his actual motive was but it could be:
1) rejection at advances. I'm soon going to be a millionaire. Why doesn't this woman want me?
2) Anger in response to the hearing that she ridiculed him for coming to the door in a towell.
3) Jodi is in jail, he wants sex and has fantasies of rape and torture
4) He really did set this up for Brendan.
The point is, his history is indicative of erratic behavior, domestic abuse and youthful delinquencies (animal cruelty and fire settings are criteria for Sociopathy)
Look, there is no denying that some fucked up shit went on in that household. Don't argue the known accusations and criminal records of Avery men. There is a part of me that feels sorry for the little boy in the picture. I am a strong believer that nurture more than nature is the **making of a Sociopath."
There is a big part of me that thinks it is possible that "other" men had means, opportunity and motive as well.
It's a fact that LE did a puss poor job at due diligence. Justice reform is needed but to answer your question about motive, in simple terms damaged people typically leave a trail of destruction behind them. It is illogical to exclude Steven Avery as the killer just as it is illogical to base your decisions on guilt or innocence from a DocuSeries that is clearly produced to invoke outrage. The two are not mutually exclusive.
Like it or not, LE probably did participate in foul play AND Steven Avery could have killed TH.
I will participate more on this sub once I have read all initial LE interviews, especially Barb Janda the Mother and Sister of the convicted.
