I already tried to tell her something like that, but it only worked partially. I told her we didn't need silverware, we wanted to choose it ourselves, then the following week she was sending pictures of silverware sets, or one specially that she wanted to buy. I was pissed because I had already said no in person, so I got a little "revenge" :) I looked up the set she was trying to force upon us and it was 14 € so I sent the link of a black silverware set I "want" from IKEA and it was 50€ (I just took one of the first more expensive ones I saw on the website) so she didn't buy either. Then, when she came over now for Christmas we had our normal silverware from the old apartment, she quickly noticed it and asked (in an almost desperate tone) "did you just buy this silverware?!?!". But considering her reaction, I'm now wondering if she secretly ordered the ones from IKEA as a surprise...
