Controversy re: AKA

There are quite a few people going against them, as you put it, and in my opinion that is the biggest problem we have right now.

The AKA had some regulatory / registration issues that seem to have been resolved.

They also are imperfect, having made mistakes like the fear mongering post about the SITSA bill.

However, I think most of the restlessness and anger is simply mob mentality doing its work in a time when the AKA's work is 99% behind the scenes.

I've heard and thought about all the complaints. I don't find them to be troubling. There is no evidence out there in regards to inappropriate usage of funds...all you have is people saying SHOW ME PROOF OR YOU ARE MISUSING FUNDS. They are assuming guilt and asking for evidence of innocence.

The AKA has not been particularly forthcoming with their financials. But can anyone really say they regret giving these people money?

I don't think there's a single non profit in the world that operates with perfect moral standards...they are no different than companies in that they appropriate funds to achieve goals, goals that in this case are not profit. But many high level non profit execs make six figures and more...because they do valued work.

If the AKA can keep kratom legal, I don't really care if Susan ash is smoking doobies like snoop dogg in a private jet. I'm sure that she is not, but all I care about is legality.

And we need to separate the white noise from the real noise here. There are some people with different ideas about the best ways to politically keep kratom legal. A difference of ideas is not really a fair basis for criticism, especially when the AKA has a proven record of success.

People can hem, haw and equivocate all they want but I'm giving money to the AKA every week that I can.
