Convenience store or Whole Foods there is no in-between.

I shop at the regular grocery store down the week and buy in-season fruits and veggies. My most expensive trips are the ones when I venture down the middle aisles and end up bring home premade/processed food. A banana or yogurt or even a cereal bar is a good breakfast. Open faced sandwiches are great for lunch because they cut out half the bread and you can pack more veggies on. Or make extra dinner and save the leftovers for lunch. Stir fry is the easiest dinner ever and it takes all of 20 minutes to make (you can even get a rice cooker/steamer with a TIMER and set it up so food is ready when you walk into the door. I hate this defeatist "being an adult is hard and I can't take care of myself" attitude. They're all such easy changes. Drink seltzer instead of soda - you still get the fizz but it's not bad for you. Have food in the house so you don't need to buy overpriced convenience food. Make your own coffee and buy the sale brands - most pots even have a timer so you can have fresh coffee on your counter in the morning. Like, five seconds of planning saves so much time and difficulty in the long run and if you have this negative attitude you'll never learn how to improve yourself.
