The conversation about nepotism in Bollywood is completely tone deaf and futile

Tthe celebrities we have in Bollywood have absolutely no brain cells to get together a coherent sentence to explain how complex privilege is. You have people like Tara Sutaria who say star kids struggle as much as outsiders not understanding that PERSONAL STRUGGLE (which is very subjective) and the STRUGGLE we talk about (socio-economic etc etc) is so different.

struggle is struggle. wtf do you think? everyone in world needs to have same struggle. You are privileged that that rando begging in the street, so what about calling here nepotism. Nepotism in bollywood works because the sons of actors/actresses are made popular or probably easy to make them popular. and let's be real, none of us have ever been to a movie hall to watch a talented but unknown actor's movie.haha and here we bitch about nepotism coz we middle class assholes can't digest the fact that there are more rich and privileged people than us who exist as well.

Did these nepotism children have to worry about career?

YES they do. There is another worry. You get connections but you need to maintain them, that's a huge hassle. People are understmiating this struggle.

They have to give hits else no director will give them movie once their popularity starts to fade away and star power starts to decrease.

female actresses just need to be sexy no a cting skills required at all..and that's why? you know coz suckers like you and me go and watch their hot movies but don't go and pay and watch for the content that is actually has the DUM..

Worry about making money for family making ends meet?

AFAIK,many actors who made it. don't have to worry about thiss. Even nawaz was rich asf.. if you are having struggle for family, fuck off from bollywood, this is not right place for you...you need to change your field and maybe get a LLB degree and be a lawyer.

Worry about feeding their family?

Read above

Worry about job prospects and making a decent salary? No, privilege is complex and acknowledging it won't make you seem less than but actually would be make you look more respectful. If you're talented, people will accept you anyways.

FCK OFF your nonsense.forget nepos, do you have to sturggle to live and feed? i am sure you don't. that is why you have time to create OCs in reddit and reply to every other repliers and chat and do the motherfucking bullshit in reddit. you are too privileged is that wrong? should you be punished for that? don't you have struggles? some might be suffering from mental health issues, some from something, some from something, WTF is this some don't struggle narrative. I will keep posting my posts till people don't change theri motherfcuking mind aabout this issue.

People don't like nepotism celebrities because the amount of times they have been given the liberty to basically train themselves in acting by featuring in big budget films is insane.

SO what? they are popular. Audience will go to watch their movies and will be hyped about their movies rather than some rando talented unpopular actor. nb gives a fck to you, this is life. if you are zero, why tf are youcoming in film industry kkk? lol it is like not having 1$ but wanting to buy mercedes. haha what nonsense you are spitting. all careers are not for everyone if you are a conductor of a bus, you get that bus to learn driving isn't that? if your father is a businessman, you get that business to handle to learn? It is fucking simple. Nepotism is everywhere bollywood is not different. don't spout bs. you are angry coz you aren neither as talented in your profession now you blame nepos for your failure or people like your's failure. fck off pls.

Saying Alia has "improved" or Sara is "improving" just shows the sheer PRIVILEGE these people have to keep exploiting the industry to gain experience and get better.

Yes they do so what? if you can get people hyped about you, if you are beautiful enough that's all fucking thing required to be an actress in india...haha..

Yes, people get better with age for sure but people who come from the quote-unquote outsider bloc don't get these chances over and over again. The newer wave of nepo kids are even worse, social media has convinced these people they're stars even before they show up on the screen.

nepos are stars due to reasons that I don't really know. there are youtubers who are more popular than nepos but they don't go to watch their movies. but then there are nepos stars whom people get existed. it is the mentality of people like you who go and watch their movies and complain about it...fck off from movie theatre, watch their movies in p****** sites. fck them..

Most interviews that steer the conversation to nepotism only do it for tokenism and there's never a debate or conversation that is fruitful that comes out of these discussions. They pose the question " do you think there is nepotism" and the nepotism associated director/co-star/whoever says "no there isn't!" and end of story.

There is nepotism...But it is not like they don't struggle.

Maybe we as audience just have to do with the fact that nepotism will never ever budge because they are UNWILLING to even recognise their privilege and will tell innumerable sob stories for us to sympathize with a rich person.

Why should nepotism change ? LOL give all your father's inheritance to the person who is beggar in street? will you even give 1% of that? you are privileged in his eyes and he wants you to accept that AS WELL AS help that? the fck. have you even donated 1 rupee to any places? I am sure bolne ki baat to kuch bhi ho sakta hai but you haven't.

Sonam Kapoor and her unfortunate Singapore pocket money situation and Abhishek Bachchan's struggle stories.

They don't struggle in terms of getting movies, but there is small struggle of having that pull. Do you think all nepos succeed, there are failed as well. If nepos were that privileged everyone could make it. They are talented as well,(some)...and believe me ass this is 2022 nb no fcking body is going to be a superstar starting from zero. Look at ssr...if you are nobody, fail to maintain good relations with people, be underconfident, have no connections, that is what happens to you..

If there are any nepo kids lurking here, please accept your privilege and say yes I am here because of XYZ and yes nepotism exists, it will probably make you seem more likeable. The rigidity and inability to accept privilege just shows how completely tone deaf the higher echelon of Bollywood and Indian society are. Making this industry accountable is never going to happen but at least acceptance would be a great start.

why should they accept privilege? lol. they should be stopped asking these types of questions.
