Convoy Megathread #7

This isn’t anything new. Our democratically elected governments have the ability to restrict certain things for the greater good. For example, if you want to drive an 18 wheeler in Ontario, you need a Class D license, you must pass a vision test, submit a medical report form, write and pass a test about operating large trucks, take a road test in one of these large vehicles, etc.

If you want to work in early childhood education, you need to provide your employer with a criminal record check / vulnerable sector check.

If you are a nursing student and want to complete your clinical requirements, you need to pass your courses, submit a criminal record check, and be vaccinated for a plethora of different shit.

In summary, if you want to participate in society, you need to follow certain guidelines. If you choose not to follow guidelines (like refusing to get a Class D licence, or get vaccinated, or refusing to provide a vulnerable sector check,) you can’t do certain things. It isn’t “oppression” if you aren’t allowed to drive an 18 wheeler because you chose not to get the correct license. This all applies to the pandemic.
