Oh yeah, I remember when the owner announced the soft opening, the wait time was 45 min to an hour in line and people waited. I heard so many people say that Desi chai houses should be a thing like they are in Pakistan and other places in South Asia.

They ran out of food within the first 3 hrs. The quality also went down pretty fast but it’s not their fault. Their opening weekend was a huge success, they got absolutely smashed and most people didn’t get a chance to hang out.

The plastic covers weren’t there back then either. I stopped going because I don’t think an enclosed plastic space is exactly Covid safe and so many Desis would pull down their masks to talk back and forth with the workers there. Maybe I’ll go back when the weather warms up again.
