You can't just take an argument that works for something and extrapolate it to anything you want. I have been playing "violent" video games since a kid, and I will shit you not, I don't kill anything, even insects, I feel weirdly empathized with little creatures and I can't swat even flies in my room sometimes.

Anecdotal evidence of course but there has been so far NOT A SINGLE causal link between violent games and real life violence. Just because a psychopath school shooter played call of duty (a game about the military and guns) doesn't mean the game fucking made him do it, it's almost absolutely certain the kid would do it anyway, and the games were a "fix" until he did it.

Similar with psychopaths who torture and kill animals before killing humans, the act of killing animals wasn't what made him into a killer, it just gave him satisfaction until he did the real thing.
