In Copenhagen with my brother and dad for 1 night at the end of the month. Brief advice for such a short stay?

I just mentioned a couple of places below that might be something for you, if you want to taste some great danish smørrebrød (open sandwich on rye) I want to suggest one of Aamanns locations. They are in the middle of the city center but not really in a location that would fit you if you go to Nyhavn. I don't know it might not be too long a strech. However they do have a location in the airport that is just as good and you could consider an early lunch when you arrive.if the price is a little steep just remember that you don't have to keep your eyes out for it the rest of the trip.

Or when you're in Nyhavn an idea could be to have lunch at Cap Horn - I have had lunch there before and it was very good. As mentioned Nyhavn can be a tourist trap and a lot of the other bars and restaurants are not worth it. If it was me I would take the lunch plate with shrimps on white bread, chicken salad (with bacon, cremefraiche, apples and cellery - not a lettuce sideorder) on white bread and a warm liver pate (mushrooms, bacon and pickled beetroot) on rye bread. It's the most smørrebrøds-ish food they serve and the liver pate is a delicious classic. I would take 2 of the lunch plates (160 kr for 3 stk) and one herring (60 kr) and share between the three of you - or take 3 lunch plates and one herring just to taste it. Or leave the herring :P.

Also I forgot to mention a great bar near the meat packing district - a personal favorite of mine when I have time to kill in the area. Fermentoren - (Map)
