Cops blame 11 year old for her getting gang raped, citing "promiscuous behavior." Rapists still not in jail.

I hate cops for more than those reasons, those were just examples.

Abuse of power is probably the one that pisses me off the most. I've seen cops put their sirens on and speed through stop signs only to turn them off once the stop signs end and an open road begins. Sweet, they get a badge and now they can break traffic rules while simultaneously enforcing them?

I've seen a man get arrested for saying the F word directed at the cops. Cuffed him and through him in the back of the patrol car while the two cops discussed on what they should charge him with. Really? Arrested because the cops got their feelings hurt and then start scheming to come up with some bullshit charge. Shit, it must nice to abuse their power like that. If only I could arrest every person who has cussed me out. It's sad that the cops arrested a man exercising his freedom of speech when in reality, cops are there to protect our rights....not violate them. It seems that in today's world, they violate more and more people's rights because they know they can get away with it. Who is going to arrest them? Another cop? Give me a break. They can do anything they want and do on a regular basis.

It's as if we don't even have rights. If you try to exercise your rights, that just pisses off the cop more. A cop can say anything and charge you with it. You can either go through the hassle of a trial and court fees or just pay the fine. That isn't right.

The system is broken when people are more comfortable with police not around. Driving in a car and a cop pulls out behind me... automatically get nervous even though I haven't done anything wrong. Who know's what the cop will say I did wrong and pull me over for it. The cop could say anything and arrest me and there is nothing I can do. If I fight back then I get slammed with resisting arrest and probably tazed.

I'm guessing off your comment that you are a city cop who actually does real work. To be honest, majority of my issues with the cops stems from suburban cops because they have less crime to fight so they have nothing to do but hassle the residents. Since moving to a major city, my issues with the cops has declined because they don't have time for petty bullshit like suburban cops do. If only a prerequisite to have the easy life of a suburban cop was to spend minimum 5 years in a city like Detroit. I think they would appreciate their job a lot more and not act like power hungry maniacs out to fuck people over for the slightest infringement.

I do have a question though. How are you all trained about laws? Do you guys know every law in the book or just expected to know?
