I did not lie. Proof of ownership comes in many forms. A bill of sale does not identify and animal, there are no numbers attached to it. A bill of sale alone does nothing. And that’s basically all she had plus a vet bill from over a year prior. When bringing cases like this to court, I was informed they look for documentation such as vet bills, registration and licensing, rabies tags, microchip, etc. I provided ALL of that. She has absolutely nothing showing that my dog is in fact hers. All she has is a piece of paper saying that she had purchased a puppy at one point in time. She never even had a dog registered or licensed with her town. So no, it’s not just an easy “case closed”. I did. It lie not mislead. I provided the proper documentation showing that I have ownership of that dog.
