I live in a communist world. I don't know whats going on in Europe or America right now but I'm sorry to hear about the economic problems you are talking about. It is the decision of the individual if they want to keep waiting or not. If waiting to move to Japan is not going well, then having some other backup plan is a good idea.

Despite the border closure, there are still many people who want to move to Japan to study or work as you can see on the subreddit.
