rubbing temples I’m venting, sorry. We had to be out of our 3rd airbnb today at 9am and my oldest pup had a doctors appointment at 3pm. My husband was told yesterday he absolutely had to go into work today so it was just me and the pups. I had to fill those 6 hours doing something and the only responsible thing seemed to just go on a big drive. I only stopped 3 times. Twice to let my pups go pee in two parks where no one was at and the third time to get gas. I felt so guilty the entire time. I asked to check in early to the new airbnb but he didn’t get back to me until around my pups doctors appointment. We got to the airbnb and there were 5 different spots that had apparent rodent activity. At first I thought it was mice, but we lifted a piece of furniture and the droppings were bigger than mice so it’s definitely rats!! I emailed the hosts assistant. Then sent pictures in the app of the activity so I had a record of the conversation. At first I was so tired and drained that I don’t think I even registered how gross that was/is. the assistant said they are getting pest control out asap. I feel conflicted because I really don’t want to sleep in a house with rats tearing up walls and making holes in the carpet. However, there are a lot of people that would give anything to be in this rat house and we really need to minimize our movements. This is our 4th airbnb and we’re finally in one for about 6 weeks. I’m a huge pushover with strangers. I just never want anyone to think I’m being difficult but I feel like I should get at least a discount for having to check into an airbnb and clean rat poop.
