The cost of giving birth in my country

I agree with you. My cousin lives in Marseille France and I live in San Francisco. We have compared our salaries and the percentage of how much of our income goes towards healthcare (me with all my insurance coverage costs, and him with the amount of extra tax he pays).

And unsurprisingly, year after year it is always me who comes away with less healthcare costs and more income saved after taxes. People just say “oh you’re just a lucky American!!!” but that’s hard to believe when 99% of people around you are insured with similar coverages.

The circle jerk will continue on Reddit in perpetuity though. It’s just another way for non-Americans to circlejerk about “how bad the US is” without even knowing the ground truth facts.

INB4 some edgy Euro posts a bunch of links and articles to “prove” how the US is the worst country in the world! Please save your breath. I trust my own ground truth reality and actual experiences before some random Redditor’s myopic viewpoints.
