I'm saying, when you get done doing what they make you do and go to do what you want to do, you're not going to be attractive to those companies.

Yeah you can do programming work for the government for 10 years, but do you come out of that looking like hot shit that a big software company wants to snatch up like a 20 year old graduate that you can hire for a portion of the costs does? No, you don't. You are doomed to a worse situation than the people who were born rich and had college paid for, we want equity, not a slightly lesser disadvantage.

College should just be covered by taxes, the fact that being rich allows you to have this much of an advantage is the problem, and this solution doesn't fix that problem, it just makes it our problem again after those 10 years and we realize we're not getting the jobs we want at that point either.
