This could get messy

This is laughable inaccurate in my region so I suspect most of the map is just as inaccurate. I know the history of all the tribes that were and are in my region. I have met many of the tribes still my area (non of them are on this map). I live in a place named after the Native Americans who lived on this land before and during the arrival of Europeans. Before the Spanish founded their first settlement in continental North America the tribe that lived here had assimilate into many other tribe through war as well as fleeing further inland (none of these are on the map either). Any generalization of history and the people groups who made that history is wrong. Claiming “Some people may be made uncomfortable by the new information and history the map brings forth," while oversimplify history and making a less complete map when we have plenty of regional maps of historical tribal claims is as ironic as it gets. The nonprofit adds. "But we are secure in knowing that truth is the best teacher, and we hope to provide the best information we can to help people come to their own conclusions about themselves and their place in the modern world." If someone actually cared about the truth and wanted to provide the best information they wouldn’t create a continental size map in an attempt to portray an accurate map of all the historic tribes of North America.

Even something like this is oversimplified so how can two tribes over all of this area even claim to be historic? I get the people behind this map just want to spread more information and get people interested in the topic but if you want to show what indigenous people inhabited which land you’re need a map as intricate as Google maps while having a slidable timeline.
