I'd say no. a Stand Alone Complex, on a basic level, is a copy without an original. here, we have an original. McDonald's were the ones that chose to start a marketing campaign (limited time sauce) based off of a joke in a TV show. the people that wanted the sauce were the ones that watched the TV show. the original factor here, is the TV show. the marketing campaign (sauce) doesn't exist without the TV show. whereas a Stand Alone Complex does, because it's a thought that links things together.

it would've been a Stand Alone Complex if McDonald's just happened to re-release that sauce (with no marketing campaign or willing connection to the TV show) and people associated it with the TV show. then they all turned up en mass to eat the sauce.
