This is the real scandal. Mazda dealers and salespeople are clearly instructed to hint and promise that AA/Carplay are "coming very soon," because Mazda is so desperate to move units. They've been doing it for a few years and every once in a while Hiroshima backs them up with a vague press release or leak. But the reality is nothing is coming soon, nothing is going to be backwards compatible, and I personally doubt anything is under development. Mazda made a deal with Johnson Controls for the crapola system that is MazdaConnect and they are just going to live with it until the next generation at least.

Many of us on here have said this has broken our faith in Mazda. After 5 Mazdas, including my current 2014 Mz3, my next car is a Subaru.
