Countries whose capital is not their largest city [1357x628]

There's no point in disputing that historically the union was of the monarchy at the time, it's not as simple as something like a federal state or a modern national state. The history of the union which is still the system we operate runs much further back than modern definitions would give them credit for.

Our foreign affairs have been represented in unity since that union of monarchs, maybe why this map is showing us as a country collectively, that did not necessarily mean the merging of the independent national states within that union.

Just because we represent ourselves collectively in those affairs doesn't by any means demean our sovereignty to rule over ourselves and have separate interests.

Why are you comparing Scotland to a system with no monarchy? It's a false comparison and is over simplifying the entire thing. It's anyone's guess who's definition you're using of what a country is, but Scotland is definitely a separate state.

So I’d say Scotland could probably say that it is a country which has a capital city which is also not their largest city and should probably be on the wee map.
