Why A Country That Accepts All Comers Isn’t A Country At All

Exclusivity was what led to the apartheid system in South Africa, a system that was taken as an antithesis to the "American way".

Closer to home, Exclusivity was the thesis behind the separation of blacks and whites which was often generalized to separation of all races by odorous people like the KKK, the Neo-Nazi and others. It is also the thesis behind antagonism against people with different religions, sexual orientations, etc.

Exclusivity is never a solution when it comes to unifying a people as diverse as our nation. Our country was, has been and is being built by immigrants. Just look at the composition of any high tech company in Silicon Valley and you can see how immigrants from all corners of the world are shaping technology and the economy. Only the opposite of Exclusivity, i.e., Inclusivity can do that.
