I've done that ancestry thing (Belgium) for my dad, showed him where are roots came from but didn't show us anything we didn't know, Ashkenazi Jews, but I was hoping it could tell me more about possible diseases, though it didn't show that while the US version does... I do think it's fascinating to learn about our ancestry, my mom's side is Breton & Basque, so pretty interesting imo and my fathers parents lived in (former) Czechoslovakia, I've always found it a shame that the more society become globalized, the less we retain from our historic roots, I like tradition, it's a nice element that unites people... Even though I'm Jewish, my mom was catholic so at home, we do the Jewish holidays but also Easter, Sinterklaas, 3 Kings, etc. Cause they bring family together and it's a nice way to change things up and uphold cozy traditions & keep history alive
