What happens when the woman of one couple decides to quit banging the male of another couple, or vice versa, does the relationship quit existing?

Do you eventually just become friends, when the sex sizzles out?

How are the boundaries that would be constantly changing as you got closer to the other couple, at different rates per the fur, be adjusted to keep the original intent of couples, of both parties in place
